It was the Minister of Justice and Public Security, Maître Carlos Hercule, who himself made the announcement. Maître Lionel Constant Bourgoin is now in charge of the Capital’s Public Prosecutor’s Office.
“Me Lionel Constant Bourgoin is appointed Government Commissioner at the Court of First Instance of Port-au-Prince, replacing Me Elder Guillaume, promoted to Deputy Commissioner at the Court of Appeal of Port-au-Prince,” writes Maître Hercule on his official X account.
Recall that Maître Bourgoin already held this position in 2011. The new commissioner was the head of the public prosecutor’s office in the city of Jacmel from 1999 to 2003. He was then appointed Director of the National School of Magistracy in November 2008.
