National essay competition on sport: ONASH publishes new dates for the continuation

By Mythsouka Jean-Philippe

Despite the persistent challenges that shake our nation, more than fifty courageous students responded to the call of the Haitian National Sports Observatory (ONASH), in collaboration with UNESCO and the OPC, by submitting their passionate thoughts on sport as part of the National Essay Competition.

ONASH takes this opportunity to salute these determined young minds who were able, despite the circumstances, to express their ideas and visions through inspiring texts. These trials will be carefully reviewed, with corrections beginning on May 20, 2024 and concluding on May 30, 2024.

From June 3 to 10, a crucial period will open with the hearing of the participants whose texts have been pre-selected for their excellence. This decisive step will make it possible to determine the winners, those whose words have captivated and inspired.

Finally, the long-awaited date for the awards ceremony is set for June 27, 2024 in Pétion-Ville. It will be a moment of celebration, recognition and collective pride as the winners will be honored for their exceptional contributions to the promotion of sport and its values.

Beyond the competition itself, this competition symbolizes a deep commitment to the education, creativity and personal development of young Haitians. It also testifies to the resilience and determination of our people to persevere despite obstacles.

In a country where sport occupies an important place both culturally and socially, this competition offers a unique platform to encourage critical reflection, artistic expression and intergenerational dialogue.
Together, let’s support these young talents who, through their words, shape a future where sport continues to be a vector of change and inspiration for all.
