A police officer from the 32nd promotion of the Haitian National Police (PNH), Barbara Fécu was tragically shot dead by armed civilians on May 8, 2024 at Turgeau. The victim had just dropped off her child at school before becoming the victim following a kidnapping attempt gone wrong.

The PNH is once again in mourning. She mourns the villainous assassination of one of its members, Barbara Fécu. The police officer from the 32nd class was murdered on rue Camille Léon, in Turgeau, on May 8, 2024. She paid the price for being in the area of a kidnapping attempt, her relatives report. The victim who was shot several times in the head had just dropped off his six-year-old child at school.

According to witnesses, Barbara was accompanied by her brother who escaped unhurt. The thugs took away the deceased’s service weapon, specifies the coordinator of Synapoah, Lionel Lazarre. The latter, revolted by this crime too many, castigates the members of the Presidential Transitional Council who, instead of getting to work to address solutions to the Haitian crisis, instead engage in quarrels for presidential positions.

Mr. Lazzarre denounces this situation in the strongest possible terms. For him, it is not possible for it to stay like this. According to the police officer, no less than 17 brothers in arms have already been killed between January and May 2024. For him it is intolerable and unacceptable that the police continue to be the object of massacre without respite. Thus, he calls on the new leaders to pull themselves together and send signals proving that they are concerned by the pain of the population.
