In a press release published on Thursday, June 27, 2024, the Democratic Resistance Political Platform (RED) called on the government to refrain from any “spectacle politics”, particularly with regard to “serious affairs of the Nation requiring calm, serenity and experience”. It also invites the presidential council and the government to remain in line with the mission entrusted to them by the political sectors of the consensus of March 11, 2024.

From the outset, in this press release, the Democratic Resistance (RED) political platform acknowledged the steps taken in the establishment of the transitional power, whose mandate must end on February 7, 2026 with the installation of a President of the Republic elected by universal suffrage.

However, in order to remain within the guidelines entrusted to them by the political sectors of the consensus of March 11, 2024, RED reminds the CPT and the government that the mission of the interim power is “the restoration of security throughout the ‘extent of the territory, the organization of the constitutional referendum and general elections’. She emphasizes that these two branches of the executive cannot claim any legitimacy, neither dynastic nor popular.

Also, RED warns against any desire to empower representatives in relation to their sectors of origin, for purposes other than those linked to the mission of the transition. This situation, according to RED, puts the current process at risk.

Furthermore, the political structure led by Claude Joseph and Renald Luberice invites members of the Government to be wary of “any spectacle politics, particularly with regard to the serious affairs of the Nation requiring calm, serenity and experience”. “Menm lè li byen vann nan lopinyon, politik espektak ak dife pay mayi se kòkòt ak figawo. Paske li pa fèt sou okenn baz solid, se rale kò w ban m met moun pa m”, paraphrases RED who believes that “the people deserve a better life”.

This week, major changes were made in Haitian diplomacy.
The new Minister of Foreign Affairs Dominique Dupuy has recalled numerous ambassadors, heads of post and other diplomats to the central services of the chancellery. A decision that made people cringe.
