The EDE political party launches 3 days of anti-government mobilization throughout the national territory

Through a press conference held on Thursday February 1, 2024, the political party Engagés pour le Développement (EDE) calls on the population to participate in three days of mobilization across the country which will begin on February 5, 2024, with a demonstration in front of the prime minister in Port-au-Prince to force the government of Ariel Henry to resign by February 7, 2024.

Speaking, the president of the EDE strategic council paints a dark picture of the last thirty months of governance in Haiti. According to him, the team in power shows blatant carelessness and inaction in the face of atrocities committed by armed bandits against peaceful citizens and accuses the government of remaining inert in the face of the spiral of violence that is slowly ravaging the Haitian people.

Regarding the management of power after the departure of PM Ariel Henry, Dr. Claude Joseph affirms that the newly created Rezistans Demokratik (RED) platform, bringing together various political parties, including EDE, the January 30 coalition and MOPOD, will have the mission of defining the new governance.

Speaking in the context of the case of the assassination of Jovenel Moïse, Claude Joseph accuses Prime Minister Ariel Henry of having exploited justice against the opposition. He views the warrant against him in this case as a distraction. According to him, the Prime Minister is using justice to divert the attention of those who are calling for his departure.

Through a press release dated January 30, 2024 bearing the signature of Sterline Civil, the party EDE denounced a vile exploitation of the file of the assassination of President Moïse by affirming that the President of his Strategic Council, imperturbable, will not be intimidated by these politico-judicial attacks and invites him to continue his fight for the triumph of justice in the context of the affair relating to the assassination of President Moïse and for the construction of a Haiti commensurate with its glorious history.
