The Commissioner of the Government of Les Cayes, Me Ronald Richemond, has been placed on leave by the Minister of Justice and Public Security, Me Carlos Hercule. Reason: several complaints have been filed against him.
“The Minister of Justice and Public Security presents his compliments to you and informs you that he has received various complaints against you in the exercise of your duties as Government Commissioner of the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance of Les Cayes”, can we read in a correspondence dated June 27, 2024 addressed to Maître Richemond.
“In order to shed light on the truth surrounding the facts with which you are accused and to guarantee the impartiality of the investigation which will be conducted by a commission appointed for this purpose, it has been decided to place you on leave until further notice,” said the former President of the Bar Association.
It should be noted that among the multiple accusations against Maître Ronald Richard, there are those relating to the assassination of journalist Garry Tess.
