The rotating presidency of the CPT adopted, Edgard Leblanc Fils opposes and calls for respect for the agreement of April 3
A meeting was held this Tuesday, May 7, 2024 between the members of the Presidential Transitional Council, with a view to finding an agreement concerning the presidency of the Council which has been debated since the appointment of Edgard Leblanc Son as president.
At the end of this meeting, six (6) councilors out of seven (7) agreed to adopt a rotating presidency during this transition period. According to a source close to the Council, councilor Edgard Leblanc Fils cried foul and called for respect for the agreement of April 3, 2024.
In this agreement, it is planned that 4 advisors will have to chair the Presidential Transitional Council. In first position, they are Edgard Leblanc Fils, Fritz Alphonse Jean in second position, Leslie Voltaire in third and Louis Gerald Gilles in last position.
Our source also confirmed that the majority of Councilors agreed on a majority of 5/7 instead of 4/7, as specified in the April 3 agreement.
