Women’s Champions League: a 100% French duel in the semi-final

PSG and Olympique Lyonnais will cross swords in the semi-final of the Women’s Champions League, after the Parisians qualify, this Thursday March 28. A D1 Arkema classic which will be played in Europe.

The four (4) teams qualified for the semi-finals of the Women’s Champions League are known this Thursday after the qualification of FC Barcelona (3-1) against SK Brann and PSG 3-0 against BK Ackenn. Two French clubs, a Spanish club and an English club in the semi-final. Olympique Lyonnais won (4-1) their return match against Benfica SL while Chelsea FC were held to a draw (1-1) by Ajax. On the other hand, the first leg ended with a score of (2-0) for the English.

A D1 Arkema classic in the Champions League semi-final on the women’s side. PSG and Olympique Lyonnais feminine are the two dominant teams in D1 Arkema. They have also been the two best teams in the championship for several years, but the Fenottes have a large advantage taking into account their last confrontations which have always turned out in their favor. However, PSG is performing very well with its trio led by Tabitha Chawinga, Vandsgaaard and Marie-Antoinette Katoto.

Over the last ten (10) meetings between OL and PSG, Corventina’s teammates have the advantage with 7 Lyon victories for 2 Parisian victories and 1 draw. This match where no team gave in was on February 11, 2024 in D1 Arkema.

On April 20, 2024, Olympique Lyonnais vs PSG and on April 27, PSG will host Olympique Lyonnais. Regarding the return match for the rest of the competition.

The other semi-final will feature FC Barcelona vs. Chelsea on April 20, and on April 27, Chelsea will be at home to play FC Barcelona.
