An unidentified and unexpanded Moncash account will not be able to continue to transact from next July 1

In a note published by Digicel, it is announced to all users MonCash As of July 1st, an unidentified and unexpanded account will no longer be able to make transactions. According to this note, this obligation comes from BRH. In this regard, the company asks all Moncash users to provide a valid ID before this date in order to continue completing transactions.

“All MonCash users are required to provide a valid ID to identify their account before July 1, 2024, in order to continue making transactions. This obligation comes from the Central Bank through circular 121, in an effort to fight fraud, money laundering and all other dishonest acts”

In the opposite case where the account is not identified or expanded, users will have difficulty making transactions on the system such as “Withdrawals, sending money, paying bills, etc., until the customer provides his identity information.”

Digicel in this note recalls several ways a person can identify his account such as: download the application and follow the instructions, go to a Digicel store with an ID and meet with a Moncash employee.

“We ask all customers who have not yet identified their accounts to do so before July 1, 2024. With the support of the Central Bank, we pushed back this deadline several times so that we could have more time to assist customers. But we have reached a moment to complete the process and allow all our customers to be identified in order to continue using the service”according to Nathaelle Chavenet, director of MonCash.

A person who needs to know if his account is identified must do *202#choose option 5, and number 3. If the account type « Level 1 », that means your account is identified, so it can work. If l « Level 0 » This means that your account has not yet been identified, and you must follow the steps to identify it before July 1, 2024 so that it is not blocked.

For app users, either click on your name or profile picture. If the account is written « MonCash Plus »which means your account is identified.
