Clashes between police and armed civilians continue in the Haitian capital. At least two people identified as members of the population died in these exchanges of fire.

The armed groups which control the capital grant no respite. Since February 29, they have put the capital and its surroundings in turmoil. The city center, particularly including the airs of the Champs-de-Mars, is the scene of bloody clashes between police and bandits.

This April 24, Port-au-Prince and its surroundings experienced a not entirely pleasant day. The opposition offered by the Police in order to push back the rebels has traumatized the residents. At least two deaths have been recorded in Cité Soleil who would be collateral victims of these clashes, witnesses report.

Note that the intensification of this persistent standoff occurs less than 24 hours before the installation of the controversial Presidential Council, scheduled for April 25, 2024. Despite the announcement of the ceremony at the Welcome Villa, the gangs did not stop pushing to make the National Palace capitulate.
