The agronomist Régine Abraham replaces René Jean Jumeau after his resignation as an observer within the Presidential Council.
After the resignation of the former minister responsible for energy security under the Martelly/Lamothe administration, René Jean Jumeau, as an observer within the Presidential Council, a presidential advisor confirmed to Juno7 that the Rassemblement pour une Entente Nationale (REN) has appointed agronomist Régine Abraham to fill this vacant position.
“The name of the agronomist has already been sent in a letter to the Caricom“, this presidential advisor told our editorial staff. He also stressed that arrangements must be made this Wednesday March 27, 2024 to find an agreement within the Council on the appointment of a president at its head.
However, in the event of a lack of consensus among the advisors, he advocates the installation of the Presidential Council. “After the installation of the Council, we will know what to do on this point. Moreover, the situation in Haiti is deteriorating, it is imperative to find a solution to avoid the worst,” argued the presidential advisor on condition of anonymity.
It should be noted that after this new choice, the Presidential Transitional Council is constituted as follows: the regular members, Edgard Leblanc Fils, Leslie Voltaire, Smith Augustin, Fritz Alphonse Jean, Laurent St Cyr and Louis Gérald Gilles, and the observer members Frinel Joseph and Régine Abraham.
