P-to-P, April 26, 2024 [AlterPresse] — Unidentified individuals have, for several days, invaded the premises of the century-old newspaper “Le Nouvelliste” (daily newspaper founded on May 1, 1898), located on rue du Center, in Port-au-Prince, vandalized the equipment and took away the furniture and raw materials necessary for printing the daily newspaper, denounces the management of the said institution, in a note noted by the online agency AlterPresse.

While condemning this horrible misdeed, with serious consequences, the management of the newspaper “Le Nouvelliste” reminds the judicial authorities and the police of their role, which is to protect the lives and property of citizens.

“After more than 125 years of existence of a newspaper known for its independence, Le Nouvelliste, always wanting to be a privileged witness to our social changes, will continue to provide information from its digital version,” we read in the note.
