Roller skates: Haitian Gesny Pierre Louis wins a new title in Chile
Ranked 18th in the world on the official website of World Skate, Haitian skater Gesny Pierre Louis won a new title in Chile during the Roller Skating competition: a new champion title for Gesny Pierre Louis in Chile which took place on Friday April 12, 2024, at the Serena. The young compatriot has already received an invitation letter to participate in the next Skating World Cup which will take place in Italy from June 13 to 16. For his remarkable talent, the Chilean Skating Federation issued him an identity card as a professional athlete.
“It is with great honor and pride that I represented Haiti in all these ranking competitions. Haiti won first place, I am proud as a Haitian. I flew the Haitian flag even though I did not obtain the support of the competent authorities. We are the children of Haiti, it is up to us to value and honor it because other nations will not come and do it for us”said Gesny Pierre Louis during an exclusive interview with Juno7.
Courted by the competent authorities of Chile to represent the South American country in the field of roller skating, Gesny Pierre Louis received from the Chilean Skating Federation an identity card with an identification number in as a professional sportsman in the country. For the young skater, it is respect from the authorities who recognize his value while those responsible in Haiti have done nothing so far to support him in the various competitions.
However, Gesny Pierre Louis never missed the opportunity to express his gratitude to those who always supported him in the procedures concerning the purchase of plane tickets, preparations among others. “Viajes Pam & Ricon haitiano (byrel Azor), super promo (chedelin Pierre), somos historia (Marc Enold Dezinord), the embassy of Haiti in Chile (Madame Wedlyne François Pierre) Degadik express (Jean Dukens Lochard), are those who supported me”he stressed.
Furthermore, the skater from Cité Soleil has already received his invitation letter to participate in the next Skating World Cup in Italy. This competition will take place from June 13 to 16, 2024, in Milan. “For this competition we have to travel with a staff but my economic support will not allow me to do so. I ask for the support of the Haitian community in the diaspora to cooperate with me economically so that we can achieve this global competition for Haiti. Together we can do a lot of things”,did he declare.
Gesny Pierre Louis is 18th in the world, he can progress in this World Skate ranking which manages roller skating sports on a global level. Created in 1924, the International Roller Skating Federation brings together more than 100 national federations, including countries from all continents. If our compatriot is 18th, the podium brings together the Senegalese Fall Dame (first), the French Petitcollin Florian (second) and the Italian Savi Gianmaco (third).
