The airline American Airlines announced this Monday, May 6, 2024, that the resumption of its flights to Haiti will only be effective from May 16. Which resumption was initially set for May 9. However, security conditions are not yet met within the confines of Toussaint Louverture international airport. Just last weekend, shots were heard in the area. Haiti’s main international airport and government seaport have been closed for two months after armed gangs launched a wide-ranging attack on the government and key infrastructure, targeting both facilities.
According to available information, the airline American Airlines is awaiting a report dated May 15 before its trip.
