27 avril 2008 : President René Préval appoints Éricq Pierre, a trained agronomist and economist at the Inter-American Development Bank, to the post of Prime Minister, to replace Jacques Édouard Alexis, dismissed by the Senate the day after the hunger riots. But the Chamber of Deputies rejected this choice on May 12, 2008.

27 avril 2009 : the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) announces the results of the partial senatorial elections of April 19. No candidate was elected in the first round during these elections aimed at the renewal of 12 of the 30 seats in the Senate, according to the CEP. A second round was scheduled for June 7, 2009.

27 avril 2013 : the Ministry of Public Health and Population of Haiti (MSPP) and its international partners launch the 11th week of vaccination in the Americas in Haiti with the start of a vaccination campaign for women aged 15 to 49 years old against tetanus and neonatal tetanus.

27 avril 2013 : death of Michèle Armand, known as Mimi Barthélémy, at the age of 73. Talented actress, storyteller and director, Mimi Barthélemy devoted herself to theater and created several shows. As an author, she published several works, some of which were intended for toddlers. She was decorated posthumously, by President Michel Martelly, with the National Order of Honor and Merit at the Grade of Knight for her talents as a storyteller and for all of her work.

27 avril 2017 : death of Herby Widmaier, emblematic figure of radio broadcasting and music in Haiti. Born in Port-au-Prince in 1933, Herbert Widmaier was a jazz icon in Haiti. Composer, sound engineer, filmmaker in his time, radio man and founder of Radio Métropole, he had innovated, even revolutionized this sector in Haiti.
