CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Borussia Dortmund wins victory in its legendary stadium

By Ketelène Guirand

From the start of the match, Borussia Dortmund exerted strong pressure on PSG, who were pushed around for almost a quarter of an hour. The Parisians managed to preserve their clean sheet thanks to Donnarumma, who brilliantly repelled the opposing attempts to prevent his team from conceding a goal.

PSG also tried to stand out in the match with several actions, but the German defense held on well. The first half was very lively, with chances from both sides, but it was Niklas Füllkrug who opened the scoring for Borussia Dortmund, sparking enthusiasm at Signal Iduna Park. PSG is trailing 1-0 in Dortmund.

In the second half, Paris Saint-Germain tried everything to come back to the score, but the Germans were lucky, with two attempts on the posts, one from Mbappé and one from Akimi, the latter facing his former team.

Although Borussia Dortmund were put under pressure for a few moments in the second half, they also had their highlights. However, efficiency was lacking on the side of Edin Terzić’s men, who remain undefeated at their stadium for almost 11 matches in the Champions League.

Despite the multiple actions, the score remained unchanged and the Germans took the advantage in this semi-final first leg of the Champions League.

The return match will be played at the Parc des Princes in a few weeks.
