In response to the political crisis and the escalation of violence raging in Haiti, while the political leaders Tèt Kale and allies do not grant the benefit of the emergency, China has undertaken an evacuation operation aimed to ensure the security of its nationals present on Haitian territory. With a total of 24 Chinese citizens evacuated, the Asian giant coordinated this action to protect its compatriots in the face of the growing threat posed by the unprecedented catastrophic situation in Haiti.

The operation, carried out on March 22, successfully concluded with the secure transfer of Chinese citizens to the Dominican Republic. This joint action between China and the Dominican Republic illustrates the importance of international cooperation in times of crisis, especially when it comes to ensuring the security and well-being of foreign citizens in countries affected by instability politics and violence.

The situation in Haiti has deteriorated significantly since February 7, when the self-proclaimed mandate of illegitimate Prime Minister Ariel Henry ended. The deterioration of security has continued since February 29, with an increase in the activity of federated pro-Tèt Kale gangs and rival gangs which control a large part of the metropolitan area of the capital.

This escalation of violence, combined with the humanitarian crisis and the shortage of basic resources, has created a climate of fear and concern among the local population and the international community.

Amid this crisis, China activated its consular protection mechanism, working closely with local authorities and other relevant agencies to ensure the safety of its nationals in Haiti. Through this action, China reaffirms its commitment to the security and well-being of its citizens abroad, acting promptly and effectively in emergency situations.
