The former president of the Spanish football federation found himself at the heart of a controversy after his non-consensual kiss in public on the person of Jennifer Hermoso in full celebration of the triumph of the Spanish women’s team in the final of the Copa do feminine world. This kiss stolen by Luis Rubiales on August 20, 2023 continues to put obstacles in his way.

The prosecution ordered the incarceration of Luis Rubiales and also asked the former boss of the RFEF to pay compensation of 500 thousand euros.

Dismissed from the Spanish federation by FIFA for this obscene gesture, an action described as immoral by Spanish feminists. Luis Rubiales was prosecuted for this case as an act of sexual assault.

This Wednesday, March 27, 2024, the Spanish justice system ruled on this subject. Prosecutors say Luis Rubiales will spend two and a half years (2 years 6 months) in prison. He will pay a sum of 500,000 euros as compensation.
