The Chargers selected Michigan linebacker Junior Colson in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Colson, who played three seasons at Michigan, was selected 69th overall.

He was a key part of Michigan’s defense as a senior linebacker, contributing to three Big Ten titles and the national championship. Standing 6-foot-2 and weighing 238 pounds, Colson accumulated 245 tackles, one sack and one fumble recovery during his college career.

Despite broken hands, he continued to play with determination. His notable performances include 11 tackles against Ohio State, eight tackles and two passes defended against Iowa, 10 tackles against Alabama and six tackles against Washington in his final season.

Although he was unable to participate in the NFL Combine due to a hamstring injury, Colson received interest from NFL teams during individual visits.
