The Council also set itself the mission of restoring justice and the rule of law, as well as the institutional and economic recovery of the country.

The parties, sectors and political alliances that make up Haiti’s Presidential Transitional Council announced Friday evening that they had finalized the political agreement that will define the road map of responsibilities that it will be responsible for implementing.

“The political agreement expresses a shared vision of the transition built by the sectors and represents a responsible commitment to the Haitian people,” we can read in a press release.

This road map will be implemented by the Presidential Council with the next consensus government “with the objective of returning the country to the path of stability, peace, unity and progress”.

However, ministers of the de facto virtual government, one of the most corrupt in the Caribbean, continue to oppose members of the Presidential Council, arguing the “constitutionality” of a decree empowering them to rule the country. According to informed observers, the Tèt Kale #3 team, which keeps an eye on things, is positioning itself to play on several fronts in order to protect the interests of its guardians.

The document defines the priorities of the Transitional Council, which are the restoration of public security, the organization of the national conference and constitutional reform, and the holding of democratic, credible and participatory general elections.

“This agreement also establishes the mode of political governance of the transition, as well as its mission, its vision and the main responsibilities of its institutional structures,” adds the information.

The Council also set itself the mission of restoring justice and the rule of law, as well as the institutional and economic recovery of the country.
