US Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken received Prime Minister Garry Conille on the Haitian crisis this Tuesday, July 2 at the US State Department.

Prime Minister Conille, accompanied by members of his government, Kethleen Florestal, Dominique Dupuy and Nesmy Manigat, spoke with Secretary of State Antony Blinken on the Haitian crisis.

US Secretary of State Antony J. BLINKEN, accompanied by Assistant Secretaries of State Brian Nichols, Todd Robinson among others, reassured the government of the financial and logistical support of the United States in the context of the deployment of the MMSS in Haiti, the strengthening of the capacities of democratic institutions, the electoral process, the rule of law, the fight against transnational crimes.

Several other topics were discussed during this bilateral meeting between the American and Haitian governments, such as the next steps following the deployment of the MMSS, the formation of a CEP, Haiti’s priority in terms of international aid, and the mobilization of international partners to support the PNH. Garry Conille defended a new approach in international cooperation with Haiti and requested additional funds for the multiple challenges linked to the five major projects defined in the agreement of April 3, 2024.

This Tuesday, the Haitian delegation also met with American parliamentarians including Gregory Meeks, Sheilla Cerfilus, the Secretary General of the OAS, Luis Almagro, the Under Secretary of State at the US Treasury Department, Ms. Alexia Latortue, and the Managing Director of the IMF, Cristalina Georgieva.
