Donald Trump lost his right to own guns after his conviction for hush-moneyand the New York City Police Department is reportedly doing something about it.

A senior police official told CNN on Wednesday that the New York Police Department was preparing to revoke the former president’s gun permit.

An investigation by the department’s legal office “will likely lead to the revocation of his license,” the official said. But Mr. Trump could challenge the decision.

The New York Times also confirmed the department’s intentions.

HuffPost previously reported that Mr. Trump, as a person convicted of crimes, could face up to a year in prison if he owned or purchased firearms, under the Gun Control Act of 1968 (Gun Control Act).
