While the decision of the majority group to propose Fritz Bélizaire as the next Prime Minister of the transitional government is causing a lot of ink to flow, certain sectors are taking advantage of it to slip the names of their candidates for Prime Minister to the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) . It is with this in mind that the “Haitian Women’s Movement” crossed by the “Inter-woman Dialogue Monitoring Committee” says it endorses the candidacy for this position of Marie Dénise Claude.

THE HAITI FACTOR, May 5, 2024._ The Haitian Women’s Movement sent on Thursday, May 2, 2024, a correspondence to the Members of the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) through which the leaders informed them of the designation of their representative to the position of Prime Minister of Haiti .

From the outset, the Leaders of the said Movement sent their congratulations to the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) for the appointment of its President, Edgar Leblanc Fils. This laudable effort, they wrote, is a significant step towards progress and the return to stability of the country.

Thus, they are convinced, they continue, that the commitment of the Presidential Advisors to these essential values will lead to tangible progress for Haiti. With all this in mind, the signatories of the correspondence remind the Members of the Council that other values are also important in the context of a prosperous and stable Haiti.

In their opinion, the inclusion of women is one for a regenerated Haiti. They say they believe that women can contribute to the advent of a new Haitian society, marked by democracy.

This is why the “Haitian Women’s Movement” under the aegis of the “Inter-Women Dialogue Monitoring Committee” designated and submitted to the attention of the Members of the Presidential Transitional Council the candidacy of Madame Marie Denise Claude as Prime Minister.

“Her exemplary career, her journey in the Haitian Public Administration and within the ministerial cabinet and her commitment to the values of gender equality make her an ideal candidate to lead the next government towards a more just and inclusive future. for all Haitians,” she wrote.

This group of women says they are certain that the choice of Marie Denise Claude as Prime Minister would send a strong message about the commitment of the Presidential Transitional Council in favor of democracy and governance based on results.

The structure therefore calls for lucidity from the CPT, in terms of doing justice to women representing more than 52% of the Haitian population, in the process of selecting the person who will become the next Prime Minister.

She plays the economist and sociologist as a personality who enjoys a long career as a leader of political organizations and was minister for the status of women and women’s rights.

“Her skills and mastery of state issues, as well as her knowledge of international issues and issues, make her a very valid candidate to lead the next transitional government. She has already shown her sense of compromise and her great ability to bring together and discuss with all sectors of national life,” praised the leaders of the “Haitian Women’s Movement”.
