WhatsApp: How to save your conversations before they are deleted by the messaging app.

WhatsApp recently announced that users will have only 30 days left to back up their conversations stored on Google Drive. This decision comes because of Google Drive’s limitation of free storage space to 15 GB, which could result in the loss of important data for those who exceed this limit, several sites including l’Internaute reported.

The instant messaging app, run by Meta, is currently sending notifications to users to inform them of this new policy. To avoid losing important conversations, users should migrate their chats to other media.

There are several backup options including exporting chats to an external hard drive: the easiest method is to backup conversations to an external hard drive. To do this, open a WhatsApp chat, select the three dots at the top right, and then choose the “more” option. Then, select “export chat” to download your data and store it on the media of your choice.

And then the increase in the capacity of Google Drive: for those who prefer to continue using Google Drive, it is possible to subscribe to paid options to increase the storage capacity beyond the free 15 GB. Google Drive offers plans of up to 100 GB, 200 GB or even 2 TB, depending on the needs of the users.

It is crucial for users to WhatsApp to take quick action to back up their data. Whether it’s moving conversations to an external hard drive or increasing storage space on Google Drive, these solutions help preserve important information and prevent data loss.
