“Hereby, taking note of the state of affairs, I present the resignation of my government. I congratulate all the members of the government, the collaborators, the public administration, the security forces, all those who accompanied me during this patriotic step,” wrote the Prime Minister.
The resigning government published a decree appointing the Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. Michel Patrick Boisvert, interim Prime Minister. Ariel Henry not being in the country, he will be responsible for liquidating current affairs. As was the case when Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe resigned and Health Minister Florence Duperval Guillaume was appointed Acting Prime Minister to wind up current affairs.
Now, it is up to the nine-member presidential council installed this Thursday, April 25, to choose a new prime minister with a view to the formation of a new government to ensure this transition which should last until February 7, 2026, as mentioned. the agreement and the decree creating this presidential council.
