The Compagnie Théâtre Créole is organizing a day dedicated to celebrating cultural diversity this Thursday, June 27 in Montreal. This event, called Fête de la Mixité, will be held at Parc Wilfrid Bastien in the borough of Saint-Léonard starting at 2 p.m.

The Compagnie Théâtre Créole, recognized for its commitment to promoting diversity in the performing arts, offers a series of activities intended for the whole family. The day will begin at 2 p.m. with a varied program including culinary tastings, entertainment, face painting sessions for children, as well as inflatable and sports games. These activities will last until 6 p.m., offering visitors a unique opportunity to discover and appreciate the cultural richness of the community.

One of the highlights of this day, says Nerlande Gaétan, will be the concert by Rebecca Jean, who will perform from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The artist of Haitian origin promises to thrill the public with his eclectic repertoire.

This event is organized with the support of numerous partners, including Canadian Heritage, the borough of Saint-Léonard, CZART, the Maison de la famille de Saint-Léonard, Boulzeye, Sun Life Financial, Center Toussaint, Izi Accès, and the MP Filomena Rotiroti. Their support demonstrates the importance given to promoting diversity and supporting community initiatives, says Ms. Gaétan.

The Compagnie Théâtre Créole, a non-profit organization, stands out for its commitment to marginalized communities. The organization uses the performing arts as a tool for education and the fight against various social issues, such as family violence, mental health prevention, and delinquency.

By offering accessible and affordable activities, the company also works to include young people from low-income families.
