The OPL political party calls on the Presidential Transitional Council to get to work to face major challenges

Through a press release dated April 26, 2024, bearing the signature of its deputy general coordinator, Kétel Jean Philippe, theOrganization of People in Struggle (OPL) calls on the members of the Presidential Transitional Council to get to work to face the major challenges and wishes good work to each of them.

Through this press release, the OPL underlines that it has experienced with satisfaction the installation of the Presidential Transitional Council resulting from the political consensus found between the stakeholders with the support of the international community, CARICOM, in particular.

“The Presidential Transitional Council is called upon to work immediately to restore the State to its sovereign functions, to make every effort to achieve the improvement of the living conditions of the population and to restore the territorial space of the country conducive to the holding of general elections within a reasonable time” we read in this press release.

Still according to the press release, the OPL specifies that the appointment of a new Prime Minister and the formation of an inclusive government capable of acting quickly on priority areas is the first response that the Council must give to security needs in particular, in view of the resumption of socio-economic activities and the launch of the electoral process of which institutional reforms will inevitably be a corollary.

The Organization of the People in Struggle thanks the Collective of January 30, ‘having appreciated the political and moral value of Senator Egard Leblanc Fils, its General Coordinator and set its sights on him as its representative to the said Council, specifying that it places its confidence in the ability of former Senator Leblanc who, according to her, has already inscribed his name in Haitian political memory through his rectitude and his sense of seriousness regarding common goods.

In addition, the OPL party invites the other members of the Presidential Council to count on the experience of Edgard Leblanc to combine specific actions expected by the Haitian people to get the country out of disaster and inertia.
