Prom’vie, an association chaired by Olguine Depard which aims to promote health through medico-social actions. During an interview given to Juno7the manager took stock of the association for 2023 and presented the various projects for the year 2024.
“This association was created to: educate the most deprived on what health is, work with different health structures to contribute to the well-being of the population”declared Olguine Depard born in France to Haitian parents.
Involved in the field of health, Olguine Depard outlined for the editorial staff of Juno7 the various activities carried out by the Prom’vie association during the year 2023. According to the president, meals were distributed to homeless people, distributions of hygiene kits were carried out. Several awareness campaigns were raised on breast cancer, sexually transmitted diseases and loneliness among the candidates of Miss Prestige Haiti of France 2024.
For this year, those responsible for the association do not intend to stop there and want to continue moving forward with the projects. In the Prom’vie action plan, those responsible have the idea of intervening in schools to provide prevention and health education, supporting isolated and precarious elderly people through the distribution of kits. hygiene collected throughout the year, letters and postcards written by residents or schoolchildren in order to create an intergenerational bond while reducing the isolation of the elderly, provide an end-of-year meal for isolated people.
During this year, the Prom’vie association will promote during the month of November in order to prevent cancers in men and will have a preparation for the day of the fight against AIDS (with distribution of condoms, leaflets)
The objective is also to open a dispensary in rural areas in Haiti in order to allow continuous action.
According to Olguine Depard, the expected results aim to reach a wider audience, create a network of partners and grow Prom’vie.
“We have a large panel of caregivers, health institutes, elected officials and the media to achieve our objectives for the population”she added.
Prom’vie is a non-profit association created on October 12, 2023 in Sarcelles. The creation of this association was based on a campaign to donate baskets containing hygiene and well-being products to women suffering from breast cancer. These gift baskets were offered to the oncology department of the Gonesse hospital center and the Estrées clinic in Stains.
