The Department of State’s Office of International Affairs for Counter-Narcotics Trafficking, Prevention and Law Enforcement (INL) with the support of the Haitian National Police (PNH), the National Airport Authority (AAN), the Office National de l’Aviation Civile (OFNAC) and other airport staff and security, successfully delivered essential equipment for the PNH to Port International Airport -au-Prince.
This delivery of non-lethal equipment included personal protective equipment and maintenance materials intended to strengthen the INL’s security assistance programs in Haiti which support the PNH in the fight against gangs.
The deputy head of mission, Eric Stromayer, handed over the equipment to the Haitian authorities. “I am grateful for the courageous work that Haitian security forces have done to strengthen airport security, which is an important step toward the resumption of commercial flights to and from Port-au-Prince . Without their hard work, today’s flight would not have been possible. The United States continues to provide robust support to the Haitian National Police through INL programs and other initiatives. »
The flight chartered yesterday was the third plane to land at Toussaint Louverture International Airport this week.
