The Superior Council of the Judicial Power (CSPJ) reacted to the shooting assassination of armed bandits on Tuesday March 23, 2024, of Questel Maximé, Deputy Judge at the Peace Court of Pilate (North). In a note of protest, the CSPJ expresses its dismay and promises that the perpetrators of the murder of Judge Questel Maximé will not go unpunished.

THE HAITI FACTOR, April 24, 2024._Assassination by bullets of armed bandits on Tuesday 23, between the localities called “Nan Siklèt” and “Palan”, of the Deputy Judge at the Peace Court of Pilate (North), of Me Questel Maximé.

He was taken down as he was preparing to go to his office, aboard a motorcycle, according to information reported by several local sources to the newspaper. One crime too many which did not leave the Superior Council of the Judicial Power (CSPJ) without reaction.

In a protest note published on Wednesday April 24, signed by its Secretary, Jean Robert Constant, the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ) said it had learned with dismay the news of the assassination of Magistrate Questel Maximé.

The judicial institution says it condemns and denounces the crime committed by the thugs.

« On behalf of the Superior Council of the Judicial Power, the Technical Secretariat denounces and condemns this villainous act putting an end to the days of Magistrate Questel Maximé who embodied integrity in his jurisdiction », wrote Me Jean Robert Constant.

The CSPJ described as “cowardly” the assassination of Me Questel Maximé who fulfilled the function of Deputy Judge at the Pilate Peace Court. “This crime is a great loss for the judicial system,” he regrets.

Disgusted by the death, the Technical Secretariat of the High Council of the Judicial Power says it bows low before the mortal remains of Magistrate Questel Maximé.

The judicial institution takes this opportunity to also present, on behalf of all the Members of the Council, its heartfelt condolences to his grieving family, to the Magistrates and staff of the Pilate Peace Court.

On the other hand, it gives a full guarantee that this crime will not go unpunished. Therefore, the CSPJ announces that arrangements are underway to ensure that the perpetrators of the assassination are identified and brought to justice as soon as possible.
