MENFP condemns all vandalism against schools and universities.

In a note he put out, Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training said he condemned all acts of gang violence in the Port-au-Prince metropolitan area against schools and universities where several spaces were burned or ransacked by men with guns in the downtown area. For MENFP, these series of acts are “destroy the middle pillar of a house that allows the whole society to stand strong.”

“Attack schools and universities, destroy archives, burn schools and universities, destroy school and university materials, is to destroy the main members of a society, is to destroy the middle pillar of a house that allows the whole society to stand strong to prepare the future of children and young people and the future of the country”

During the last days, men with guns ransacked ENARTS, burning the school of Brother Nau and the Superior Normal School. All these spaces are in the downtown blocks of Port-au-Prince, in the heart of the capital. After these acts, MENFP reminded the society, in particular these dishonest individuals

“The Higher Normal School is one of the largest and oldest institutions that train our teachers providing services to public schools and private schools in the country.”

Faced with the difficult situation of the country, especially the people of Port-au-Prince, where even the educational space is not spared, MENFP launches a call and a cry for everyone to join hands to protect the schools which are the basic institutions to prepare the children’s future.

The MENFP officials took the opportunity to send their sympathies to all the victims of the acts of violence, in particular Maurice Antoine, one of the oldest cadres in the ministry, Accountant of the Office of the Secretary of State for Literacy, who was killed by thugs today, Thursday, March 28.
