Seven other countries officially notify the UN of their intention to participate in the planned occupation of Haiti at a cost of more than $600 million

The $600 million required for the Haiti occupation project requested by Ariel Henry, Michel Patrick Boisvert, André Michel and allies is attracting other countries.

Indeed, the United Nations affirms that following the installation of a transition council in Haiti, seven countries officially notified the UN Secretary-General on Friday of their intention to provide personnel to the support mission supported by the Security Council for this crisis-ravaged Caribbean country.

The UN said Kenya had offered to lead the multinational mission which aims to provide much-needed support to the national police in a bid to regain control of the streets from gang domination, which has plunged the country into chaos these last months.

Kenya was joined by the Bahamas, Bangladesh, Barbados, Benin, Chad and Jamaica in pledging support, the UN said.

The UN spokesperson’s office said that “other countries have expressed interest, including publicly, but have not yet informed the Secretary-General.”

Currently, the UN said $18 million has been deposited into the support mission’s trust fund, provided by Canada ($8.7 million), France ($3.2 million) and the United States ($6 million).

Meanwhile, the UN said armed violence continues across the country, with Port-au-Prince and the Ouest department worst affected.

The situation also remains volatile at the national port, said UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric.

“The Varreux oil terminal is now closed after several gang attacks. However, on a more positive note, our humanitarian colleagues tell us that over the past three weeks, over 100 humanitarian containers have been collected from the Caribbean Port Service.

The UN said the humanitarian response continues and the World Food Program (WFP) has provided daily food assistance to displaced people in Port-au-Prince and other departments.

The United Nations health agency, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), have set up mobile clinics at displacement sites to provide medical consultations , the UN said.

The migration agency, IOM, also provides basic medical and psychosocial services to displaced people.
