April 29, 2007: Born in Port-au-Prince on April 9, 1924, Joseph Nerette was sitting on the Court of Cassation when he was called, in October 1991, by the putschist military to replace President Jean-Bertrand Aristide. Some nine months later, he was dismissed from office and replaced by Marc Louis Bazin, prime minister in a government that had become single-headed. He died on April 29, 2007.
