Summary of police operations and interventions: 17 bandits mortally wounded, 17 firearms seized and a vehicle confiscated by the Police

Seventeen (17) suspected bandits mortally wounded, including gang leaders Ernst Julmé, alias “Ti Grèg” and Makandal, seventeen (17) firearms seized: 12 caliber rifles, AK47, 9mm pistol and M4 and one (1) vehicle confiscated, during operations and interventions carried out by the PNH from February 29 to March 26, 2024.

These operations and interventions were carried out following attacks perpetrated on public and private institutions by heavily armed individuals wanting, at all costs, to establish a climate of terror in the metropolitan region of Port-au-Prince.

Furthermore, in order to continue to secure and protect the lives and property of the population, the Commander-in-Chief of the PNH, Mr. Frantz Elbé, has issued formal instructions to the heads of specialized units of the PNH in order to intensify operations to allow citizens to go about their business with complete peace of mind.

It should be noted that the Haitian National Police reiterates its commitment to continuing the fight against armed gangs, while requesting, once again, the frank collaboration of members of the civilian population.
