Me Camille Leblanc challenges Haitian actors in the face of the multifaceted crisis that has been gnawing at Haitian society for months.

Addressing the population and members of the Presidential Transitional Council, Me Camille Leblanc of the Regroupement des Citoyens Engagés calls on stakeholders to find a solution to the crisis that has been gnawing at Haitian society for months.

“As We highlighted in our call of March 15, 2024 relating to the legal and institutional parameters which were poorly approached, We have, among other things, drawn the attention of political actors and the entire population to the seriousness of the economic, ecological and security situation of the country” underlines the former Minister of Justice who specifies that this situation has since worsened and, it is realistic to note that the time is no longer for procrastination or political calculations.

Considering that the situation is serious because the country can no longer wait, Camille Leblanc calls on the Presidential Council to find, within twenty-four hours, the appropriate formula with a view to structuring the Institution in order to begin the race towards recovery. “Beyond this period you too, gentlemen, will be held responsible for all the harm that will be caused to the people” he argued.

In the event of failure, Me Leblanc specifies that the Caricom must draw the necessary conclusions and put an end to its mission of good offices by resorting to the Court of Cassation in accordance with the spirit of the Haitian Constitution of 1987. According to him, recourse to the Court of Cassation will automatically resolve the vain competitions and the interference of partisan politics in the transition leading to free, honest and democratic elections.
